About Me
Hi! I’m Mateo, a Leadership and Management major in the Rutgers Business School with interests in marketing, sales, real estate, and sports media. I’m passionate about how business, media, and athletics intersect to build brands, connect people, and tell meaningful stories. This site is a space to showcase my work, experiences, and growth while reflecting who I am both professionally and personally.
Overview
This website is a place to show who I am, what I’ve worked on, and where I’m headed academically and professionally. I’m a student at Rutgers Business School, focused on building skills that matter in real-world business, especially in management, marketing, sales, real estate, and media/content creation. I’m interested in how strategy, communication, and relationships drive success, and this site helps me organize my experiences while showing how my interests have grown over time.
Media and digital content creation are a big part of what I do and enjoy. I have experience creating videos, photography, and social media content, and I enjoy thinking about how ideas are shared and how stories can engage people. I like projects that combine creativity with strategy, whether through branding, storytelling, or content design.
Sports, especially hockey, have shaped how I approach both business and media. I currently play for the Rutgers Club Hockey team, and being part of a team has taught me discipline, leadership, and accountability while also showing how important communication and trust are. I am especially interested in sports media, how teams build relationships with fans, create identity, and foster loyalty, and how these experiences influence how I think about branding, storytelling, and community-building.
Outside of business, media, and sports, I also enjoy childcare and mentoring younger students. Working with kids has taught me patience, adaptability, and how to communicate in ways that are engaging and effective. This portfolio is designed for employers, instructors, classmates, and anyone interested in my work or direction. It also functions as a space to practice building a personal brand through intentional design and organization, following the idea that clear structure helps people “find what they need quickly and effortlessly” (Dunn 2–3). Through blog posts and projects, I document my growth while presenting myself in a way that is approachable, organized, and reflective of my goals.
